What types of industrial heating equipment does Indelex supply?

Indelex supplies an extensive range of industrial heating equipment, including:

  • Component heating elements
  • Process heating assemblies
  • Surface heating systems
  • Temperature control systems and sensors
  • Electrical control panels and power controllers
  • Heating-system ancillary equipment
  • High-temperature insulation and connection components

Our capabilities range from small, low-power heating components to large industrial process-heating systems rated in the megawatt range.

Does Indelex manufacture bespoke heating equipment?

Yes. Bespoke design and manufacture are central to what we do.

If a standard product does not meet your application, our engineers can design a heating element, assembly or control system around your required dimensions, voltage, power, operating temperature, watt density, materials and installation method.

We can manufacture one-off components as well as equipment for repeat OEM production.

What information is required to specify an industrial heater?

The information required depends on the application, but it will normally include:

  • The material, liquid, gas or surface being heated
  • Starting and required operating temperatures
  • Required heat-up time
  • Available voltage and electrical supply
  • Component dimensions and installation space
  • Operating pressure or flow rate, where applicable
  • Process and ambient conditions
  • Required temperature-control accuracy
  • Hazardous-area classification, if relevant
  • Existing equipment details when replacing a heater

You do not need to arrive with a finished technical specification. Provide as much information as you have, and our team can help identify what else is needed.

Can Indelex help me choose the correct type of heater?

Yes. Our sales engineers and designers can assess your application and recommend an appropriate heating method, construction and control arrangement.

This may involve direct immersion heating, external surface heating, air or gas heating, radiant heating, trace heating or a custom-engineered combination. Our objective is to specify the most suitable solution for the process rather than simply sell a particular product.

What industries does Indelex serve?

Indelex heating equipment is used across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors, including:

  • Plastics and packaging
  • Petrochemical and chemical processing
  • Aerospace
  • Metallurgy and heat treatment
  • Food processing and commercial catering
  • Pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Power generation
  • HVAC and environmental control
  • Kilns, furnaces and laboratory systems

If your industry or application is not listed, contact us. Our experience extends across many specialised and unusual heating requirements.

Does Indelex supply equipment for hazardous areas?

Yes. Indelex can design and supply heating equipment for hazardous and potentially explosive environments, including Zone 1 and Zone 2 applications.

Depending on the product and project requirements, equipment may be available with relevant hazardous-area certification such as ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA or other recognised schemes.

Hazardous-area equipment must be correctly specified. Please provide the area classification, gas or dust group, temperature class, ambient conditions and any applicable certification requirements when making an enquiry.

Does Indelex provide temperature controls and sensors?

Yes. We provide individual control components and complete control solutions, including:

  • Temperature controllers
  • RTDs and thermocouples
  • Mechanical thermostats
  • Power controllers
  • Solid-state relays
  • Infrared thermometers
  • Switchgear
  • Bespoke electrical control panels
  • Anti-condensation heaters

Control systems can be designed to complement Indelex heating elements and process assemblies, providing a coordinated heating and regulation solution.

Can you replace an old or obsolete industrial heater?

In many cases, yes.

If the original heater is obsolete or its specification is unavailable, we may be able to assess the existing component and manufacture a suitable replacement. Drawings, photographs, equipment information, dimensions and electrical ratings are helpful when identifying a replacement.

Where appropriate, we can also advise whether repair or refurbishment would offer a faster or more economical solution.

Does Indelex repair or refurbish industrial heaters?

Yes. We repair and refurbish old or obsolete heating equipment where this is technically practical and represents the best solution for the customer.

Refurbishment can reduce cost, shorten downtime and extend the useful life of equipment that would otherwise be difficult to replace. The heater must be inspected before its suitability for repair can be confirmed.

Can Indelex help with an urgent equipment breakdown?

Yes. We offer a breakdown service for urgent industrial heating requirements.

Standard lead times depend on the product, specification and current factory workload, but fast-track manufacturing may be available when an urgent replacement is required. Some emergency work can be completed within a few days and, in exceptional circumstances, within hours.

Contact us as early as possible with the heater details and required delivery time.

Does Indelex supply equipment for heating liquids and gases?

Yes. Our solutions cover water, oils, chemicals, process liquids, air and industrial gases.

Depending on the application, we may recommend immersion heaters, inline process heaters, submersible heaters, over-the-side heaters, duct heaters, gas-line heaters or another purpose-designed assembly.

Pressure, flow rate, fluid properties, operating temperature and material compatibility must all be considered during specification.

What is the difference between process heating and surface heating?

Process heating assemblies generally transfer heat directly to a liquid, gas or airflow. Examples include immersion heaters, inline process heaters and duct heaters.

Surface heating systems are fitted externally to a pipe, vessel, machine component or floor. Heat is transferred into the item through conduction or controlled radiation. Examples include flexible heater mats, heated jackets, ceramic surface heaters and trace-heating systems.

The correct method depends on the process, access, maintenance requirements and required heat-transfer efficiency.

Why is insulation important in a surface-heating system?

Without suitable insulation, part of the generated heat will escape into the surrounding air rather than entering the pipe, vessel or component.

Correctly specified insulation improves heat transfer, reduces energy consumption, protects personnel and helps maintain a more stable process temperature. Indelex can supply high-temperature insulation materials and removable insulation jackets tailored to the equipment.

Does Indelex supply the components needed to install a heating system?

Yes. We supply a comprehensive range of ancillary equipment, including:

  • Backnuts, flanges, fittings and gaskets
  • High-temperature cables and sleeving
  • Lugs and electrical connectors
  • High-temperature plugs and sockets
  • Earth bars, bosses and links
  • Insulation materials and removable jackets
  • High-temperature machined parts
  • Kiln and furnace furniture

This allows the heater, controls, electrical connections and installation components to be specified as a coordinated system.

What standards and certifications are available?

Indelex operates a quality-management system to ISO 9001:2015. Products and systems can be manufactured to applicable electrical, pressure-equipment and hazardous-area requirements.

The precise standards and certifications depend on the product, application and destination market. These may include CE, PED, ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA, ASME and other recognised standards or approval schemes.
